Filling the Void

J.K. Rowling\'s new bookLet’s face it. After “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” most, if not all of us, prepared ourselves for the end of the epic series. Knowing that we would no longer be able to enjoy the magical feeling of Hogwarts ever again, most of us resorted to scanning through our old books, recognizing the most important details the story had to offer. We felt a sort of Harry heartbreak, scared that the story would never continue again. This, though, is only half true. Harry Potter will never again hit the bookshelves, but the wizard world will return to our bookstores this December with the help of J.K. Rowling.

“The Tales of Beetle the Bard” may not be the story of Harry Potter exactly, but it is a book of mystical tales of the world of witches and wizards. Written and illustrated by J.K. Rowling herself, the book is set to be published on December 4, 2008. A charity group associated with Rowling hopes to make near $8 million with the new book.

The five stories in the novel were once hand-written gifts by Rowling, but when one was purchased by Amazon for a whopping $4 million, it was the perfect way to satiate everyone’s Potter hunger. The book is to cover the same legendary themes as Harry Potter, minus the familiar heroes and villians. One character makes an appearance, but seperate for the tales. Albus Dumbledore, the wise headmaster of Hogwarts, is rumored to have written a commentary in “The Tales of Beetle the Bard.” Rowling’s goodbye to the world of magic will come in a leather-bound collector’s edition for $100. It is only suitable that she lay to rest a world of fascinating oddities and awe-inspiring creatures in an elegant and meaningful style.

I really hope that J.K Rowling will make more Harry Potter books because Harry is the only character I’ve ever looked up to in the wizarding world. ( Besides Professer Dumbleldore ). I feel so amazing when i hear that beggining music of the movie. It makes me feel like I can become a wizard myself but that is impossible without science. Sometimes when bad or awesome things happen in the movie I want to jump into the screen and make a move. My lifes not complete without Harry Potter. I feel as if I could be friends with him. Even though he is much older than me…( I’m 10 1/2 ) I’m really close to finishing the whole series. I’m on the The Order Of The Pheonix right now. I’m already past half the book. When I reach the end of this series I am going to be SO sad you wouldn’t believe it. Then I’d read the whole series once again then I’ll keep repeating the series until there is an ending to my life or if I get tired of reading the same things again. I really hope all of you join in with me and scream,” We want more Harry Potter books!”. I really do believe that if we start saying we want more Harry Potter books and/or make a pitition, we can read Harry Potter once again. Thx and remember, We Want Harry Potter!! :)

my whole family enjoys reading harry potter. (except my dad because he works) but we have every movie and every book. i have harry potter as my background on my computer. i just finished the 6th book. harry potter and the half blood prince. tonight, im starting deathly hallows. i just can’t imagine harry potter ending. it felt so real and the stories are incredible. the reason i like reading so much now, is because of harry potter. J.K Rowling, if you’re reading this right now, bring harry potter back to us. i dont care if it takes 10 years. i just want a little hope and a chance that he’s not lost forever. harry potter is the one thing i can depend on when im sad or upset. if im feeling bad or angry or scared or worried. i sit down and watch harry potter to make me feel better. i dont want to get bored of it. so an eigth book would really lift my spirits, in saying that there are 3 more movies left of harry potter. im twelve years old. i fall asleep sometimes thinking if there would be another book, let alone another movie. i just cant see it ending. the familiar faces. i feel like i know them. hermione, ron , harry, ginny, snape, dumbledore

awesome,Harry Potter are awesome, i guess every fans in here felt the same thing; we’re afraid to lose the magical feeling of the wizarding world, hogwarts, and harry potter. I always felt that they’re world are real, that i could somehow step in into their world if i go to the right place. I’m a programmer,im 17. I’ve read Hp books since i’m 12. I have dream to make a game, an online game that everyone can jump in into the world of Harry Potter, and became the students themselves.and actually live in that world.. but it’s still so far away from now, even though it will take 10 years or more, im gonna make it! so that we can meet again in the HOgwarts Express one day..

I dislike that the harry potter set is now done besides the five story thing she is doing. I mean the one with harry ron and hermione. The reason why is because the book set started me out in actually liking to read and now that it is done I am bumbing. The world of Harry potter is like a home to me and I don’t like it that it is done. I really wish she would make a completely different set but in the same magical world of harry potter but a different character. Its sad.

I LOVE the books, here in China everyone loves them too, it’s cool how she creates Harry’s school book, etc. etc and now the story tale book! It’s sad though that Harry’s story will stop there. At least we will be able to enjoy the movies, anyone agree? :)

I really wish J.K. Rowling would would write more Harry Potter books because I love reading them. I used to really hate Harry Potter, but now I can’t get enough of it. If J.K. Rowling writes another book, I would totally read it, but J.K. Rowling has a really weird title for this next book.

Hey. It’s not the end of the world. Ok maybe it is but every time you read the Harry Potter books you find more things then the last time. With Harry Potter it’s like entering a new world. A world unlike yours, A world where any thing can happen.
J.K.Rowling can’t make more Harry Potter books unfortunately because the publishers won’t let her. Just don’t forget about Harry’s children. Maybe there is a future through them.

  18. From Cyre De Atonrah

I believe, she may stop if she chooses. To live a life is to live a life. We cannot stop one from living a life as one pleases.

She has given us a certain quality in which we view things around us, and for this– we should be grateful. Instead of bickering or moaning about why she has put an end to this, look at what she has already given us.

I’m sure that each and every one of you– if put in this great woman’s place, would see why she has stopped. Just as Lord Of The Rings.. Though ancient now, we still go back for the thrill of reading.

You can shed tears that it is gone
or you can smile because it has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that it will come back
or you can open your eyes and see all it’s left.

Ahh I really wish that It hadn’t ended that way in the epilogue. Now I am itching with curiosity, like who is the new headmaster. Which brings me to my next question, what shall happen to the children of Harry and his friends.I believe Ms. Rowling should create a new series telling the tales of the children.

she needs to continue the harry potter series but have it about harry and his kids at hogwarts if harry potter ever left this world billions of people would most likely cry themselves to sleep for a few years

  24. From Rob

haha I can’t wait for this. I’ve read the whole series 5 times and the last three books an additional time each. I’ve been looking for any tiny detail that might be a form of foreshadowing, so it’s good to have a new book to read.

  25. From Rob

and if she keeps going on Harry, eventually the books will get repetitive and the books will get lost in the pages of history. By going out on top, she assures that all of her books will be remembered for centuries. It also took her about seven years to plan out what was going to happen for the seven books. That’s one book outline a year, and i doubt she would want to do that again. Hate to say it, but he probably just wants to spend time with her kids right now.
