Harry Potter Star Daniel Radcliffe makes Broadway Debut

British actor Daniel Radcliffe, who shot to fame for his role in the Harry Potter series of films, has made his debut performance at New York’s Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway in Equus.

19-year-old Radcliffe admitted he was really nervous before the opening night and that he hadn’t seen any of the reviews of the production yet. Radcliffe had to appear nude in Equus but he had no problems with this.

The stars Glenn Close, Kathleen Turner and Mamma Mia!’s Dominic Cooper were all in attendance and showed their appreciation of Radcliffe’s performance in Peter Shaffer’s play.

Fellow actor and co-star Richard Griffiths said he thought Radcliffe had come a long way since Equus was first staged in London.

Radcliffe had already been highly acclaimed for his performance in the role of a disturbed teenager who blinds horses and he has showed that as a professional actor he is able to play other roles besides the one he is famous for in the films about the boy wizard.
