Michael Gambon bio: 

Michael Gambon studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and later joined the National Theatre where he acted under the mentorship of Sir Laurence Olivier. Although Michael Gambon was a huge success on the stage and on British TV, he didn’t gain much notice on the big screen until 1989’s The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. He went on to appear in such films as The Insider, Sleepy Hollow, Gosford Park, Open Range, The Good Shepherd and Brideshead Revisited.

Michael Gambon has won numerous awards including the Laurence Olivier Award and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1992. After Richard Harris passed away, Michael Gambon took over the role of the beloved Professor Dumbledore in the third Harry Potter film.
