Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 DVD details

Harry Potter fans can get their hands on the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 DVD on April 11 in the UK. The DVD and all its extras should help fill the void while we’re waiting impatiently for the final film to be released on July 15. The British Board of Film Classification gave a sneak peek as to what magical goodies will be featured on the Deathly Hallows Part 1 DVD, including some of the deleted scenes. With the extras totaling almost an hour, Harry Potter fans are in for a treat.

The DVD of the penultimate film will contain at least two featurettes: The Seven Harrys and On the Green with Rupert, Tom, Oliver and James which will showcase the last days at Privet Drive, Hagrid’s motorbike, magical tents, the Death Eater cafe attack, creating Dobby and Kreacher, Godric’s Hollow, the frozen lake and the return of Griphook. The Blu-ray edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is also rumored to contain the first scene of the final film.

For Harry Potter fans who missed seeing some of their favorite scenes from the final book on the big screen, the DVD also contains eight deleted scenes to take us further into the tale. The deleted scenes include:

The Burrow’s Shed: Ron discusses radios with Mr. Weasley
The Dursley House: Harry and Aunt Petunia as they leave house
The Dursley House: Harry and Dudley shake hands
The Granger House: Death Eater searches deserted home
Ministry of Magic Lifts: Harry tells Arthur he’s being tracked
Tent: Trio discusses destroying locket
Rabbit chase in the forest
Montage: Ron and Hermione skimming stones

Extended versions are always better – looking forward to seeing the dursley scenes. Not so sure about the rabbit chasing scene or the montage though. Should have had more scenes with Lupin as was in the book.
