As the April 15 DVD release date for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 approaches, Warner Bros. has released another tidbit to leave Harry Potter fans drooling. The DVD and Blu-ray will feature deleted scenes and fans are anxious to see their favorite parts from the book that didn’t make the final cut.
In the first deleted scene from the upcoming DVD, Harry Potter and Aunt Petunia share a tense moment as she prepares to leave 4 Privet Drive, her house of 20 years. She actually shows an emotional depth that has not been seen in the films before and Harry seems stunned. When Harry reminds her that she and the Dursleys are in grave danger, she replies tersely, “You didn’t just lose a mother that night in Godric’s Hollow, you know. I lost a sister.”

The world of wizarding has met the muggle invention of Twitter with magical results for Harry Potter fans. Even J.K. Rowling has a Twitter account although the author has only tweeted six times since she first signed on in September of 2009. Rowling’s latest tweet in February made her fans happy though since she’s apparently hard at work writing. “This is the real me, but you won’t be hearing from me often I’m afraid, as pen and paper are STILL my priority at the moment,” she wrote, reiterating her previous tweets.
A slew of Harry Potter stars who have appeared in the movies also have Twitter accounts and fans can keep up with their current and future projects. Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, has made some major announcements on Twitter as well as Facebook, including her haircut heard round the world last year and her latest fashion projects.

Since the beginning, it has all been leading up to the climactic battle between Harry Potter and Voldemort that must come. After all, the whole series can be boiled down to this – “Neither can live while the other survives.”
Warner Bros. just released the first poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 that foreshadows the dark tone of the final book and film. Voldemort and Harry Potter are featured on the poster as they face off while appearing only inches from each other. Although Harry is beaten and bloody, he stares Tom Riddle in the eyes, not even flinching against his evil glare.
Also featured prominently in the poster is the Elder Wand which plays a huge role in the final book. As fans know, Voldemort desecrated Dumbledore’s grave while searching for the wand at the end of the penultimate film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. And the wand, of course, is all important in the final epic battle.
At the bottom of the poster, amid the fire and mayhem are words that spark a bittersweet tear for Harry Potter fans: “It All Ends 7.15″ Sigh! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the climactic finale to the series, will hit theaters July 15, 2011.

Although Rupert Grint revealed that he is still coming to terms with the end of the Harry Potter series and his role as Ron Weasley, he has reportedly signed on for a new project, an anti-war film called Comrade. Rupert is set to begin production this week in Norway and will play British Private Robin Southey Smith.
According to Comrade’s director Petter Naess, “There are many talented young actors, but Rupert Grint is very right for the role. I can say just that he’ll play a young, redheaded rebellion.” Comrade tells the tale of English and German pilots who crash in the Norwegian wilderness after a violent battle and must face the brutal winter ahead. Through their struggles to survive, the two enemies forge a bond and become friends.
Sounds fantastic but one question: What will become of Rupert Grint’s hair? Earlier this year, Rupert Grint did say that he was ready for a new ‘do and this might be his chance to shave off his famous red locks.

Do you think Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 was the best movie of the year? And in your opinion, is You-Know-Who the best villain to be found on film? Now’s your chance to be heard! MTV just announced their long list for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards and fans can vote for Harry Potter to be nominated in a slew of fun categories.
One category overlooked by the Oscars? Best Kiss – which last year went to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame. Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe are listed for their lip lock in Deathly Hallows Part 1 but Harry Potter fans might get more excited when Ron and Hermione finally seal the deal in the last movie. And of course, Emma and Daniel are up against Kristen and Robert plus Kristen and Taylor Lautner’s kissing scene in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
