Stunning new Deathly Hallows Part 2 set photos!

Harry Potter production designer Stuart Craig has been on the set since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and is credited with much of the iconic and beloved scenery that gives Harry Potter films their magic. The Oscar winner has shared some behind-the-scenes photos from the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 with Architectural Digest.

Fans get a closer look at Shell Cottage (sigh, don’t you just want to live there?), Dumbledore’s office, Gringotts bank, Honeydukes and more in the new spread, including the new boat house that will reportedly be the setting for a certain beloved character’s death. And Craig offers his invaluable insight on each stunning photo.

Speaking about Shell Cottage which was created on the Pembrokeshire Coast of Wales, Stuart Craig said, “I try to find a logic for whatever the set is and somehow I felt it was wrong for [Shell Cottage] to be too whimsical, too fanciful. So this cottage has a logic.”

“If you really wanted to build a house on the beach, what would you do? Well, you would use local materials. And the local materials would be either rocks or seashells. The walls are huge oyster shells and the roof is made of big scallop shells. You can see how scallop shells can lend themselves to overlapping and shedding water. I was kind of pleased with the logic underlying the structure that we had found there.”
