Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando just announced “A Celebration of the Harry Potter Films” — a special three-day event starting Friday, November 11, through Sunday, November 13.

Fans who purchase special vacation packages will get the chance to mingle with Harry Potter cast members during Q&A sessions and autograph signing events. Plus, special guests can put on their best dress robes for a “spectacular evening gala” to be held at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

What else is on the enchanted agenda? All eight Harry Potter films (including the grand finale) will screen as part of the event at the AMC Universal Cineplex 20 at Universal CityWalk.

So save up your galleons! The vacation packages go on sale Sunday, July 31 at noon EST.

Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) recently gave excited fans in Sydney a sneak peek of what to expect. Hundreds of props, costumes, creatures and other artifacts from the Harry Potter films, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, will be on display in an immersive experience for fans.

At the Sydney event, Matthew Lewis had the pleasure of unveiling some of the iconic items including the Bloody Baron’s costume and the Flying Ford Anglia, plus a never-before-seen Death Eater costume. And the actor even chatted about some of his favorite features in the exhibit:

“I brought my own wand, some of Neville’s costumes. We’ve got the mandrakes and you can pull the mandrakes out of the pot like Neville — hopefully you won’t faint like Neville.”

Matthew Lewis was also excited about “stuff that you don’t appreciate in the film — things, little details that a lot of effort has gone into, like the programs from the Quidditch World Cup, which you get to see for a second in the film.”

The director of the Powerhouse Museum, Dr. Dawn Casey, said, “We are thrilled to be bringing Harry Potter’s enchanted world to Sydney. We invite all Harry Potter fans and anyone with an interest in the superb creativity and skill which goes into making these stories come alive, to come and experience this truly magical exhibition.”

Harry Potter: The Exhibition will open its doors Down Under at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, starting November 19, 2011 through March 18, 2012. Advance tickets are available now at the Powerhouse Museum site.

In North America alone, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 raked in a whopping $43.5 million in midnight and early morning ticket sales! This number blows the previous record-holder out of the water — The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which set a record in 2010 with $30 million.

A lucky bunch of midnight moviegoers in Orlando were treated to a magical surprise after their screening. Imagine this, after hearing Hedwig’s theme for the last time in theaters, fans at the AMC Universal Cineplex 20 were shocked to learn that the nearby Wizarding World of Harry Potter would open their doors just for them!

Over 3,000 thrilled guests had the enchanted park all to themselves from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. and they took full advantage of the opportunity to taste butterbeer, tour Hogwarts and snatch up wands.

Fans from coast-to-coast lined up and camped out for days to be the first in line to catch the magic. In LA, Harry Potter fans donned their best Gryffindor scarves, Harry Potter spectacles and wizarding robes while celebrating the release of the final film at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Other fans went to the dark side with Bellatrix Lestrange’s tattered robes and wild hair. And some went all out with prosthetics and props, channeling their inner Dobby.

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis and Alan Rickman were among the stars to mingle with fans and reporters while chatting about the epic finale to the magical series and reminiscing about the early days. While the guys looked sharp in their suits, Emma Watson stole the show with her sophisticated look and strapless Bottega Veneta gown.

When the stars were shown pictures from the very first premiere for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Emma Watson commented, “Look I had fun with it! I was wearing gold make-up that night too, so I’m sensing a theme,” and Daniel Radcliffe couldn’t help but note the similarities to his 12-year-old self. “I’m basically the same, aren’t I? I look the same, with just a slightly deeper voice.”

The tight-knit trio posed together on the red carpet for what is most likely the last time (sigh!). “We have a sibling relationship,” Radcliffe said about their years of growing up on the Harry Potter set. “No one knows what it’s been like to go through this mad journey but us.”

Rupert Grint (aka Ron Weasley) especially relished this last Harry Potter outing on the red carpet. “It’s great to see everyone and the enthusiasm they have, it’s very moving,” Grint said. “It’s crazy. It’s very special to experience this, I’ll miss it. I like these (premieres), being screamed at.”

And Emma Watson commented, “A part of me is very sad and emotional. It’s been a tricky juggling act to do my job and be professional but it’s very emotional.”

Although Daniel Radcliffe is currently starring in the Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, he took time out to promote this last film and had nothing but praise for Deathly Hallows Part 2. “The film is so much better than anything we’ve ever done, people will go nuts for it,” he predicted.

Also on the red carpet, Radcliffe praised Alan Rickman’s phenomenal performance in the last film and to prove his point the veteran British actor graciously accepted the big prize for MTV’s Harry Potter World Cup for his portrayal of Severus Snape, beating out such fave characters as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Dumbledore.

Rickman took a moment to thank fans, saying, “It’s a vote for ambiguity and things where you don’t quite know how they’re going to turn out. And also, it’s [Snape's] values that you can’t talk about without ruining the film, but things like courage and determination and loyalty and love, actually.”

Other stars to attend included Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Whoopi Goldberg and Melissa Joan Hart, plus Harry Potter producers David Heyman and David Barron, and screenwriter Steve Kloves.

The Harry Potter stars walked the red carpet at Trafalgar Square, marking the first time ever a film premiere has been held at the historical spot, before heading over to Leicester Square to catch the movie. Stars like Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter, plus the woman behind it all — J.K. Rowling — mingled with the ecstatic fans while signing autographs and posing for pictures.

The veteran British thespians as well as the 20-something stars reminisced about their years on the enchanted set of Harry Potter while chatting excitedly about the epic grand finale.

In a poignant moment, producers David Heyman and David Barron, director David Yates, J.K. Rowling, and the three main stars — Daniel, Rupert and Emma — took the stage to thank the fans for their decade of loyalty. When David Yates said the Harry Potter journey was coming to an end, Radcliffe politely disagreed by saying, “Each and every person not only in this square but also watching around the world who will see this film and who have followed these films over the last 10 years will carry this story with them through the rest of their lives and it will affect what they do.”

Emma Watson thanked her co-stars through her tears calling Daniel a “perfect Harry” and praising J.K. Rowling for being a great role model. Rupert called it an “emotional week” and said he wasn’t very good at goodbyes. But he did manage to say the last 10 years have been the “best part of my life” and thanked Rowling for “what you’ve done for ginger people. I cannot put that into words.”

Rowling brought cheers when she took the mic and said, “Maybe I’ll just write another one,” but the author admitted she was joking. She went on to thank what she called her “Big 7,” Dan, Rupert, Emma, Matt, Evanna, Bonnie and Tom. And lastly, summing up the entire experience as only the author who dreamt up the world of Hogwarts could, Rowling said, “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

For the more fashion minded, Emma Watson and J.K. Rowling both donned Oscar de la Renta gowns, while Bonnie Wright showed off a Miu Miu dress and Evanna Lynch went for a fun, flirty mini-dress.

Harry Potter was nominated for a total of five Teen Choice Awards, including the biggie: Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, where The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will go face-to-face with the penultimate Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
